• the ability to receive alerts near your current location with the Follow Me feature
• display of geographical alert areas on a map
• easy sharing of alerts via social media, email, and text message
• detailed alert information comprising emergency descriptions, affected areas, and safety instructions
• simple setup and user-friendly interface
• accessibility features for seamless usability by individuals with different abilities

An emergency alert issued through SaskAlert typically includes:

• a description of the emergency
• the location of the incident
• safety instructions for individuals
• notification when the situation has been resolved

Alerts may originate from various entities including Government of Saskatchewan ministries, crown corporations, provincial agencies, local governing bodies, and Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC).

The Government of Saskatchewan ministries, crown corporations, provincial agencies, local jurisdictions, and policing agencies issue alerts pertinent to their areas of responsibility during emergency events that could jeopardize lives and safety.

ECCC provides severe weather alerts covering events such as tornadoes, blizzards, dust storms, extreme cold, freezing drizzle, freezing rain, heatwaves, heavy rainfall, severe thunderstorms, snowfall, high winds, and winter storms.
